Home Delivery Library Service

During the Great Depression, there was a WPA project in rural Kentucky where librarians would deliver books to people on horseback. These “Pack Horse Librarians” helped these rural residents stay informed and entertained. Click here to learn more.

Our Library offers a Home Delivery Service, too. No horses are involved, of course! But the idea is similar . . . to provide home delivery of materials to Home Delivery Servicepatrons who are not able to visit the library in person. This service is provided for those cardholders with residency in New Berlin who are confined due to illness, age, disability or other qualifying circumstance.
