November is...

National Novel Writing Month, or NaNo for short, is an organization that supports events where children and adults can find the inspiration, encouragement, and structure they need to achieve their creative writing goals. This includes web-enabled challenges with real-world components designed to foster self-expression while building community on local and global levels. So on top of an online account where you can create a profile, connect with others, and track your word count, the library is working to provide opportunities to brainstorm, write, and build community in person!

The end goal of NaNo is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. That’s 1,667 words each day! While that may seem like a lot, this lofty goal is certainly doable, even for people with full-time jobs and children.

During the month of November, the New Berlin Public Library will serve as a Come Write-In location. On the dates below, we’ll open up our conference room to aspiring writers who’d like a quiet place to work. No registration is required, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact Emma at (262) 754-1821 or
