Voting for the Kids’ Choice Awards begins Tuesday, February 14th and runs until Tuesday, March 14th.
The Kids’ Choice Awards is a book-centered program for 4th, 5th and 6th graders in Jefferson and Waukesha Counties. It was created to increase cooperation between public and school libraries and to encourage children in these grades to read. Students are able to nominate titles that they wish to be included on the reading list, and librarians from public libraries and school library media centers analyze the nominations and select fifteen titles that will meet a wide range of readers.
Children in grades 4th, 5th and 6th have the opportunity to read books from the Kids’ Choice Award reading list and then vote for their favorites. The more books they read, the more votes they can cast! See the display in the Youth Services area for the list of books.
To vote, cast your ballot at participating schools or at the New Berlin Public Library anytime during the voting period. The New Berlin Public Library is even offering coupon prizes to those who come to the library to vote on Tuesday, February 14th to kick-off voting! Stop by the Youth Services Desk to cast your ballot and claim your prize. Prizes will only be available on February 14th.
