March is National Quilting Month

In honor of National Quilting Month, the library is displaying an assortment of beautiful quilts. We're highlighting quilts made from bits and pieces of fabric.

Be inspired to make quilts from your stash! Whether it be strips, fat quarters, jelly rolls, or just plain scraps, there are a multitude of ideas and patterns for beautiful quilts. We have books on display near the 2nd floor fireplace to help inspire your own quilting projects whether you're new to quilting or a seasoned quilter.

Displayed in the lobby and the stairwell are personal quilts from the Quilting Angels group, as well as library staff. The Quilting Angels is a group that began in January 2001 to produce quilts for charitable organizations in the Milwaukee area. To date, this group of about 24 women have produced close to 7500 quilts. Project Linus receives and distributes many of the quilts to needy children in the area. Other recipients of the quilts are disaster victims, veterans, hospice and cancer patients and the homeless.
