Audiobook SYNC

Audiobook SYNC starts today, Thursday, April 27th, and I am so excited!

Each year Audiobook SYNC keeps getting bigger and bigger. Last year it ran for 15 weeks with 30 different audiobooks, and this year it is running for 16 weeks with 32 different audiobooks to download and keep forever, for free! Truly all SYNC asks for is your email, and then you click download and you have a free audiobook or two each week, ALL SUMMER LONG, specifically April 27 – August 16.

I’m getting ahead of myself though, I’m just so excited! (If you can’t tell!) First, Audiobook SYNC is geared for teens aged 12-18, but anyone can download and listen to the free audiobooks! Each week two paired audiobooks will be available. They become available on Thursday and you have a week to download them. If you need a reminder you can get emails or texts to notify you when the new titles are available! You can download both, just one, or neither each week.

Okay, here's how this is done. It is powered through Overdrive and can be done on any device with an Overdrive App or using a computer. Personally I prefer my computer, but it’s totally up to you! If you do it on your computer then it will download to Overdrive, which you will have to install, and then you can listen to it on your computer or easily transfer it to any device. If you do it on your smart phone or a table you will need to download the Overdrive app and it will appear when you first open the app. You will go to each week there is a title you like and then click download. It really is that simple, and if you have any questions feel free to email me at

Some of the books! In the past it used to be strictly a classic or nonfiction book with a semi new YA book. However, they were able to get a lot more newer titles and some more popular titles and have switched up the pairing a little. Like the second week is a classic YA book, Feed by M.T. Anderson, and a classic SiFi adult book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. There are a few newer titles, like Shadowshaper by Daniel José Older, and a couple I’m really excited about are Airborn by Kenneth Oppel and Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys, most of which are in the last few weeks. Of course they save the best for last! I also really enjoy full cast audiobook because they really bring the story to life, and there are a number of them this year, like Rebuttal by Jyotsna Hariharan.

Happy Listening!
