Kid's Choice Awards

Kids’ Choice Awards

Have you heard of the Kids’ Choice Awards?

The Kids’ Choice Awards is a book-centered program designed for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in Jefferson and Waukesha Counties. The goal is to increase cooperation between public and school libraries and to encourage children in these grades to read. Each year, students are asked to recommend books for the program, and librarians from public and school libraries narrow the list down to 15 titles, all ranging in genre and level in order to meet a wide range of readers.

Once a reading list has been decided on, children in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades have the opportunity to read books from the Kids’ Choice Award reading list and then vote for their favorites. Kids are eligible to vote after reading 3 books. The more they read, the more votes they earn!

Voting for 2018 doesn’t start until February 14, so keep reading! See the display in the YS area for the list of books or check out one of our Kids’ Choice book bundles. To vote, check at your New Berlin School or vote on-line at bridgeslibrarysystem.org/vote.

Voting runs from February 14 - March 14.
