Mark Your Calendars for Storytime

We have been on a “storytime break” here in the Youth Department for the month of August while we wrap up our Summer Reading Program and prepare for fall programming, but the wait is almost over! Our Fall Session 1 Storytimes will be beginning September 12 and running through October 20. Be sure to mark your calendars now!

We have so many storytimes to offer here at the New Berlin Public Library, with a variety of ages and abilities in mind. We offer a Lapsit Storytime for children ages 0-24 months and their caregiver; Storytime for 2’s & 3’s and their caregiver; Preschool Storytime for independent 3-5 year olds; and returning this fall after a long summer break is our Sensory Friendly Storytime for children ages 2-7 years old and their caregiver.

Haven’t heard of our Sensory Friendly Storytime before? It’s the newest addition to our storytime offerings and is designed to engage children through movement, music, stories and play. It’s open to all children, but is especially geared to children on the autism spectrum, those with sensory integration challenges, or children who have difficulty sitting. Come give it a try!

  • Registration for storytime is no longer required, but we do ask that you check in at the Youth Reference Desk upon arrival.
  • Space is limited to 20 (children and/or adults, depending on which storytime you are attending), and we will not be able to let others in once we reach capacity.
  • Please arrive before the scheduled storytime.
  • While we understand that sometimes it can be hard to get out of the door on time with little ones, please do not enter the storytime room if you are arriving more than 10 minutes late.

For a complete schedule of our fall storytimes, be sure to check out the Fall Storytime Session 1 Flyer or our storytime page
