Baby Signing Time Class

Baby Signing Time Class

Tuesday, May 19, 9:30-10:30am

This is a one hour program for birth through 3 and their caregivers.
Research has shown that young babies can communicate through simple sign language long before they are able to talk.  We no longer need to wait to communicate with our children until they say their first words.  Early childhood experts recommend that parents teach simple signs to their babies during the first 3 years of life. These signs not only help parents and babies form closer relationships, but reduce frustration and build self-esteem.  Sign language provides for lots of fun activities and can actually increase speech and language development.  Babies who have been taught simple signs before they can talk have started talking sooner, have larger vocabularies, are more interested in books, and even have higher IQs than non-signing babies.  Don't miss this special class!  Space is limited.  Please register at the Youth Services Reference Desk in person or call 262-754-1814.

Also don't forget to check out the library's Baby Signing Time DVDs to continue at home!
These DVDs are located in the Youth Services Department.  Please ask a Youth Services Librarian for assistance.
