3 Things You Didn't Know About Comics Plus

You've heard us talk about the Libby and Hoopla apps as great sources for free ebooks, audiobooks, and more. But did you know that you can also access a whole world of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga for free with your library card? Here are 3 things you didn't know about about our newest reading app, Comics Plus!

#1: You can read anywhere, anytime!

After you set up your account within the library, you are free to read Comics Plus content 24/7 on any of your personal devices.

To create a new account:

  1. New accounts can only be made while physically at New Berlin Public Library, while using one of our public computers or connected to our free public Wi-Fi.

  2. You will be asked for an email address and a password, and that's it! Your account is now good to use on any device, even at home!

Once you check out a title, you have the option to download it to your device for offline reading, ensuring you have access to your content anywhere you go!

#2: There are no waits and no limits!

One of the best things about Comics Plus is anything you see is available to borrow immediately! There are no holds lists on titles, so you can read what you want, when you want.

In addition, you can check out an unlimited number of titles at once. Even better - there are no due dates! Items you check out will simply remain on your shelf until you remove them.

Search for a title you want to read, or explore the many categories available for browsing, such as Action/Adventure, Slice of Life, and Webcomics, just to name a few!

#3: Comics Plus has content for all readers!

When creating an account on Comics Plus, you can sign up for the Children's Library, the Teen Library, or the Full Collection. The Children and Teen Libraries feature curated content specifically for those age groups, while the Full Collection gives you access to all of the content on Comics Plus.

  • Children's Library : ages 3-10
  • Teen Library: ages 8-18
  • Full Collection: full selection from Children's and Teen Libraries, plus adult content

This means if you have a little one who wants to read digital comics and manga, you can create an account for them in the Children's Library collection. That way when they log in, they will only see the content that is curated specifically for their age group. This is true for the Teen Library collection as well.

At the same time, you can have your own login to the Full Collection and enjoy access to all of the content that Comics Plus has to offer! Comics Plus has something for everyone!
