  • current photo identification
  • proof of residence

(Residents of Milwaukee County are required to pay a one-time, non-resident fee of $25.)

Cards for Minors

Children may obtain their own library card at age 5 or older. A parent or legal guardian must be present to show current identification and sign the application. Children's cards can be made at the Circulation Desk or Youth Services Desk.

CAFÉ (Catalog Access for Everyone)

Use your New Berlin library card at any CAFÉ library. (You do not need a separate card to check out items from other Waukesha and Jefferson County libraries.)

Unless marked, return New Berlin Library materials (and other CAFÉ library materials) to New Berlin Library or at any other CAFÉ library.

Place a hold to have an item shipped from a CAFÉ library to New Berlin for pick up. You can do this in the library during open hours or from home at any time.

Connect your card in the CAFÉ Libraries App to search the catalog, place holds, and check out materials.
