Ongoing Challenges
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
For ages 0-5.
Welcome to the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge! This challenge encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters kindergarten. Reading together helps develop important early literacy skills that provide a solid foundation for school and learning success. Plus, sharing stories together is fun!

500 Books Before Middle School
For ages 6-11.
This program is for ages 6-11 and can be done on their own time alongside their school work.
Reading has so many benefits for children, including exercising their brains, improving concentration, teaching about the world around them, improving vocabulary and language, developing imagination and empathy, and achieving success in school.

Year-Long Reading Challenge
For adults ages 18+.
Join us for our new Year-Long Reading Challenge for 2025!
Designed to keep you reading all year long, choose books that fit 12 of the 15 categories. Find your own book to fit the category, or look for a title from a librarian-curated list!
