How Do I...
Tell the library I'm not ready for my hold?
Not quite ready to start your next read but don't want to lose your spot on the holds list? No worries, you can always "freeze" or "suspend" your hold!
The "freeze hold" feature allows you to choose the date when you'd like your hold to become active. This keeps your place in line and lets you move up in the holds list, but tells us you aren't ready for the hold to be sent to you until after the date you select. Depending on the app or catalog you use, you may see "freeze hold" or "suspend hold". These terms both mean the same thing!
To freeze your hold:
At the time of placing your hold, simply choose an "unfreeze date" (this is the date the library will know to send you your book) or let the staff know you'd like to freeze the hold. If you need to freeze or unfreeze a hold after the initial hold has been placed, please call the library.
What We’re Listening to...
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Michelle, our Library Services Manager, is currently listening to Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Atmosphere takes place in the 1980s during the early days of the NASA Space Shuttle program. It follows Joan Goodwin, a physicist and astronomy professor who dreams of becoming one of the first female astronauts. The novel explores Joan's journey as she navigates the challenges of the NASA training program, her relationships with fellow astronauts and family, and a hidden, transformative love affair.
