How Do I...
Manage multiple family members' library accounts?
Starting March 3, you will be able to "link" your account with another patron account. When accounts are linked, you are able to view and manage the other person's checkouts, holds, and other account activity as well as edit account details such as an address or phone number. There is also an option for a one-way link, where you may give access for someone to be able to view and manage your account activity but you cannot view or manage theirs, or vice versa.
To link accounts:
- Go to newberlinlibrary.org/catalog.
- Click on "Log in" at the top right corner of the page and enter your library card barcode and your 4-digit PIN to log in.
- Once logged in, click on your name in the top right corner of the page, then click on the "Account Portal" button.
- Once inside your Account Portal, click on the button labelled "Connect Other Accounts" in the top right corner.
- You (the sender) will be prompted to choose whether you are adding 1-way or 2-way sharing and then to create a "passphrase", which will be shared with the patron you will be linking accounts with (the receiver).
- After the receiver enters the passphrase to accept the connection request, the two accounts will be linked together.
Reminder: This is done in your Account Portal. Library staff does not set up, keep track of, or need to approve of the linking.
What We’re Reading...
Summers End by Juneau Black
Julie, one of our Circulation Aides, is reading Summers End, part of the Shady Hollow mystery series by Juneau Black. It's a cozy mystery series where the main characters are animals but have human characteristics and abilities. It's a really fun read!
Fun fact: Juneau Black is a pen name for two friends that co-write the series and worked at a bookstore together. One of them is now a librarian at the Whitefish Bay Library!
