Book a Librarian!

Not sure how to use your phone? Pictures cluttering up your laptop? Not sure how to set up your Libby account? Need help locating resources for research? Our book a librarian service allows for patrons to sit down, one-on-one with a librarian for 45 minutes for help with a variety of topics. In general, if it's something a librarian can help you with, you can book it! Patrons are able to book up to 3 sessions for the same topic.

To submit your book a librarian request, kindly visit the link below and fill out the form. This provides us with your contact information, a little bit more about what you need help with, and your general availability.

How Do I...

Figure out what to read next?

We heard you just finished a life-altering book series and have no idea what to read next but need to get lost in another realm ASAP. Look no further, the librarians are here!

On our website, you can find a "What to Read Next" form available for patrons to fill out with their reading tastes, so we can get to know you a little more before providing recommendations. Filling out the form, allows us to see what genres you typically read, what books or series you've previously enjoyed, and anything else that may be important for us to recommend you your next favorite read.

In addition to our personalized reading recommendations, there's a few places throughout the library that you can look for what to read next.

  • Keep an eye out for our "What to Read Next" displays, in our Adult and Young Adult sections. These physical reader's advisory displays, showcase lists of book recommendations curated by our librarians and based on certain genres, topics, etc.
  • At the Adult Reference Desk, we have our Staff Recommendation bookmarks available for patrons to take home. On these, each of our librarians have listed some of our favorite books.
  • Around the library, there is a plethora of themed displays where you can find books to read. For example, around the holidays you can find holiday-themed displays with holiday themed books of course.
  • Browse our online reading lists where we've curated book lists based on popular topics and genres. The best part? These lists direct you straight to these items in our catalog, making it seamless to place a hold or read more about the item when browsing.

Any teens specifically looking for reading recommendations?

Check out our "LitLoot Boxes" for teens! These boxes contain goodies and books recommended by our lead librarian, based on the information you provide us with. To sign up for a LitLoot Box, visit this page.
