How Do I...
Get a library card?
As long as we're open, you can get a library card for FREE!
To apply for a library card, please stop by the circulation desk with your ID and proof of residency handy.
Patrons may also wish to register for a card online. If a patron elects to register electronically, please be advised this is a temporary library card number and you will have to stop by in person to fill out necessary paperwork and pick up your permanent card.
Children are able to obtain their own library cards. A parent must be present for this, to show proof of identification and residency as well as fill out the required forms. This can be done at the Circulation or Youth Services desk.
Friendly reminder: Milwaukee County residents must pay a one-time fee, non-resident fee when registering for a library card. This fee is $25.00.
