Purpose of Meeting

Celebrating Aldo Leopold Weekend on March 7th from 1PM-2PM with the Waukesha County Land Conservancy and the Waukesha County Environmental Action League for a morning of captivating conversations, as we read out loud passages from A Sand County Almanac - and sipping on hot coffee or cocoa.

We will delve into the literary classic, A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. Originally published in 1949, the book chronicles Leopold's observations of the flora and fauna in a rural area of southern Wisconsin over a forty-year period. The author's vivid descriptions of nature are accompanied by philosophical reflections on seasonal wildlife and nature patterns. With over two million copies sold, A Sand County Almanac is widely regarded as a revolutionary piece of work that transformed our perception of wildlife conservation, land management and stewardship.
