The Brother SM1704 Sewing Machine is a lightweight, full-size sewing machine that features 17 utility and decorative stitches. The sewing machine is perfect for everyday projects, mending, inserting zippers, creating buttonholes, sewing on buttons, and more.

Equipment

All patrons must go through training in order to use this equipment. Click here to see our upcoming training sessions.

This reservation is for in-library use of the Brother SM1704 Sewing Machine and a basic sewing kit, which includes:

  • Fabric scissors, pinking shears, sewing scissors, and thread clippers
  • Fabric clips, pins, and pin cushion
  • Seam rippers
  • Seam gauges
  • Flexible tape measure
  • Needles and needle threaders
  • Bobbins
  • White and black thread

The library does not provide consumable materials; however, we do have some small fabric scraps and thread that you may use. Please bring in your own fabric and thread, as well as any extra to test settings on before the final project is made.
