September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! Check out these 10 reasons to sign up for a card.
1. Board Games and Video Games
We offer board and video games here at the library! Checking out our games is a great way to save money or try out new things. We offer lots of board games ranging from classics such as Sorry!, to indie games such as Everdell. We also have Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox, and Wii games.
2. Library of Things
Books aren't the only things in our library. We offer lots of items from instruments to craft items, to recreational items such as bikes, to costumes and so much more. 3. eBooks and Comics
Your Library Card gives you access to Libby and Comics Plus. They are both apps that let you check out eBooks. Libby offers eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines. Comics Plus offers a large collection of comic books and graphic novels for all ages, with specific Children's, Teens, and Adult Collections.
4. Online Newspapers & Research
If you want to do research for class or just for personal interest, our Online Resources are a great place to start. Some of these include Britannica Education, EBSCO Information Services, Gale, ProQuest, TeachingBooks, and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. We also have online access to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel through Newsbank, which you can learn more about here.
5. New Books
New titles are always being added to our collection, stop on by and browse our new arrivals section. Located on the First Floor, our New Arrivals hold recently released titles from fiction, nonfiction, paperback, and large print. Our Young Adult New Arrivals is located on the 2nd floor. Check the "This Month's New Additions" section on the front page of our online catalog to see what's new at the library!
6. Experience Passes

7. Take Classes
With a library card you will have access to Udemy, which offers online video learning courses. Learn programming, marketing, business skills, personal hobbies, and more.
8. Movies
Missed a movie in theaters? Or want to watch a classic? Browse our DVD collection, where we have romance, thrillers, horror, drama, documentaries and more. See what's new here!
9. Virtual Author Talks
The library hosts a virtual author talk series each month featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors. They occur two to three times a month and there are opportunities to ask questions! Sign up for talks here!
