Read Wherever and Whenever
June is Audiobook Appreciation Month, so we're highlighting a few audiobook resources we provide to help make the Library more accessible and to support audiobook lovers!
Audiobooks are an amazing way to still incorporate reading into your everyday life, while still accomplishing all your everyday tasks and responsibilities. Audiobooks offer flexibility, which makes them great for when your hands are busy, like when you're folding laundry, driving, traveling, cleaning, etc. Audiobooks also offer the opportunity for people who cannot physically read, such as young children, visually impaired, or when you're feeling too blah to physically pick up a book to still be able to read. They also come in handy for on the go when you don't want to or can't carry around a book.
Our physical audiobook collection, contains a variety of different audiobooks available on CD, which feature an array of different genres and authors. These are perfect for popping in in the car or in a CD player at home.

What We’re Listening to...

Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
Tiff, one of our Adult Services librarians, just finished listening to Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield. She enjoyed following the descriptive storytelling of both the main characters, as the story is told in dual first-person perspective of wives Miri and Leah. This story is a slow burn mystery with some body horror that explores the question - what happens when people we know and love become completely unfamiliar to us? Tiff also especially loved that since the story is dual point of view, there are two audiobook narrators!
